One of the biggest reasons I became interested in instructional design was after working with the alphabet enough that I came up with a really simple model for the different sounds in the alphabet. Taking what I learned about voicing from Korean, and points of articulation from Mandarin's phonetic system, I created a simple chart that reveals the basic characteristics of spoken language.
The explanation for the simple look at the alphabet that I've come up with is another unpublished book that I would love the opportunity to implement.
